Just Give Me a Reason

life passing me by

alone in this unstoppable world

uneventful moments

nothing to lose

but all the while

still searching for a reason

a reason to love

a reason to trust

a reason to laugh

a reason to stay

but

nothing

as we search with no light at the end

life is passing me by

I wake up and see the sun

just as quickly as the moon rises

crawling my way up this path

but with a blink of an eye

it’s over

I’ve failed

I have nothing

nothing to love

nothing to trust

nothing to make me laugh

how quickly we get here

but how quickly one can leave

but here I sit

thinking about life

as it’s passing me by

I still do nothing

and wait

wait for life to slow down

and to give me a chance
